A Mass of Christian Burial for Katherine R. Pourier, age 91, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Porcupine Day School in Porcupine, SD with Father Peter Klink, S.J., officiating.
Burial will be at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
Vigil services will start at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, SD. Rosary Services will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday evening at the school. Katherine will lay in state at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church from midnight until 8:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2016.
Katherine was born on May 12, 1924 in Rockyford, SD to Robert and Bessie (Janis) Brewer. She passed away on January 29, 2016 at the PineRidgeI.H.S.Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Katherine is survived by son Ernie Pourier of Winnebago, NE; daughters Rene Blue Horse of Pine Ridge, SD and Lois Fraser of Porcupine, SD; brothers Dick Brewer of Denver, CO and Ernie Brewer Oklahoma; sister Pearl White Face of Rapid City, SD; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Katherine was preceded in death by parents Robert and Bessie Brewer; spouse Batiste Pourier; sons Wayne Pourier and Dean Pourier; eight brothers; two sisters; and grandsons Robert Clinchers and Paul Pourier.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Katherine R. Pourier.
