Funeral services for Wilbur Christopher Between Lodges “Wicahpi Wanbli,” age 71, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD with Father Rick Abert, S.J. officiating.
Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Rodney Bad Hand and Melvin Bad Hand.
Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD.
Viewing services will be from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Wilbur was born on March 9, 1944 in Wanblee, SD to Paul and Mary (Moves Camp) Between Lodges. He entered the Spirit World on January 31, 2016 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army.
Wilbur is survived by children Sheena Between Lodges of Pine Ridge, SD, Jarrod Iron Horse of Wanblee, SD, Jackie Waldner and Angelita Red Blanket of Wanblee, SD, Dannion Brings Plenty and Thomas Richards of Pine Ridge, SD, and Christopher Between Lodges of Wanblee, SD; sister Matilda Little Killer of Wanblee, SD; and grandchildren Mattea Martin and Keyniah Lakota of Pine Ridge, SD.
Wilbur was preceded in death by parents Paul and Mary Between Lodges; spouse Cheryl (Two Bulls) Between Lodges; and siblings Wayne Between Lodges, Ramona Randall, Lavina Between Lodges, and Darlene Mesteth.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Wilbur Christopher Between Lodges “Wicahpi Wanbli.”
