Funeral services for Jorma Lain Blindman “Hoka Si” (Badger Feet) “Tasiyagmuka Sakala” (White Meadowlark), age 42, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Father Joe Daust S.J. officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Charles Spotted Thunder.
Burial services will be at the Holy Dance Family Cemetery in Slim Buttes, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, SD. The second night will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Jorma was born on June 23, 1973 in Black Foot, ID to Delmar Blindman and Alice May Sun Bear. He passed away on February 15, 2016 at his residence in Pine Ridge, SD.
Jorma is survived by son Ozuye Blindman of Ft. Hall, ID; daughter Baby Gabe Blindman of Ft. Hall, ID; special friend Pearl Star of Pine Ridge, SD;children Emily Two Bulls, Kourtney Mesteth, David Star and Edward Star, all of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Jason Blindman of Wounded Knee, SD, Wakan Waci Blindman and Wakinyan Howaste of Nevada, and Berdell Shot and Brant Good Lance of Wounded Knee, SD; sisters Tara Blindman, Ginger Good Lance, Tia Shot and Dana Good Lance, all of Wounded Knee, SD; paternal grandmother Rita Long Visitor-Holy Dance of Slim Buttes, SD; adopted mother Lula Walking of Cheyenne Creek in Pine Ridge, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jorma was preceded in death by father Delmar Blindman and adopted mother Renita Red Star.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Jorma Lain Blindman “Hoka Si” (Badger Feet) “Tasiyagmuka Sakala” (White Meadowlark).
