Funeral services for Briar Vinson Arcoren-Brings Plenty “Tasunke Hota,” age two months and 21 days, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Charles McGaa, Reverend Abraham Tobacco, and David Brings Plenty officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Fred Cedarface.
Burial will be at the WhiteWolfCemetery next to his grandmother, Rose Mary Dixon, in Mission Flat, Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Briar was born on November 22, 2015 in Pine Ridge, SD to Alyce Arcoren and Delano Brings Plenty. He passed away on February 14, 2016 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Briar is survived by mother Alyce Arcoren of Pine Ridge, SD; father Delano Brings Plenty of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Brandon & Dallas Brings Plenty of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Opal, Jennifer, & Mystery Brings Plenty of Pine Ridge, SD; grandfather Jason Arcoren of Pine Ridge, SD; great-grandmothers Pearl Cedarface of Pine Ridge, SD and Susanna Swallow of Red Shirt; aunts Andrianna Smith and Aimy Dixon of Pine Ridge, SD; uncles Allan Smith and Darrell Brings Plenty of Pine Ridge, SD, Donroy Brings Plenty and Duane Brings Plenty of Porcupine, SD, Darren Brings Plenty of Rapid City, SD, and Mike Brings Plenty Sr. of Oglala, SD; grandmothers Susan (Dan) Hudspeth and Carol (Ray) O’Rourke of Pine Ridge, SD; and niece Addison Brings Plenty of Rapid City, SD.
Briar was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Rose Mary Dixon; paternal grandparents Vincent and Lucille Brings Plenty; maternal great-grandparents John & Yvonne Arcoren; and aunts Jennifer Arcoren, Madeline Brings Plenty, and Vincynthia Brings Plenty.
