Funeral services for Leonard Robert Poor Bear Jr., age 35, will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Batesland School Gymnasium in Batesland, SD with Senior Catechist Ben Conquering Bear and Reverend Ben Tyon officiating.
Burial will be at the Knight’s Cemetery in Batesland, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Batesland School Gymnasium in Batesland, SD.
Leonard was born on April 19, 1980 in Rapid City, SD to Leonard R. Poor Bear Sr. and Sue Ann Bettelyoun. He made his journey to the Spirit World on February 20, 2016 near Pine Ridge, SD.
Leonard is survived by mother Sue Ann Bettelyoun of Rapid City, SD; father Leonard Poor Bear Sr. of Sioux Falls, SD; stepfather Emmett Whalen Jr. of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Corbin Feather Earring and Robert Feather Earring of Sioux Falls, SD, Derek Bettelyoun of Batesland, SD, Louis Bettelyoun of Rapid City, SD, Jesse Whalen, Monte Whalen, and Serine Whalen of Pine Ridge, SD, and Paul Poor Bear of Sioux Falls, SD; sister Sue Ann Whalen of Pine Ridge, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Leonard was preceded in death into the Spirit World by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Leonard Robert Poor Bear Jr.
