Funeral services for James Francis Wilson, age 44, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Reverend Abraham Tobacco officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Cecil Apple.
Burial will be at the Holy Cross Episcopal Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
James was born on April 27, 1971 in Pine Ridge, SD to Cordell Wilson and Mary Belle (Monroe) Wilson. He passed away on February 25, 2016 in Pine Ridge, SD.
James is survived by daughters Selena Wilson, Racquel Wilson, Crystal Ten Fingers, and Danielle Piper, all of Pine Ridge, SD; sons James Wilson Jr., Kevin Wilson and Albert Piper, all of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Thomas E. (Rebecca Jumping Eagle) Wilson, Darren Brings Plenty, Owen Black Elk and all brothers/cousins of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Alice (Mary Kate) Wilson, Iva Lynn Black Elk and all sisters/cousins; aunts Jessie Pulliam, Phoebe (Alvin) Bad Yellow Hair, and Emily Lakota, all of Pine Ridge, SD; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by parents Cordell and Mary Belle (Monroe) Wilson; aunt Olvia Bruce; grandparents Edith Bettelyoun, Ogden Wilson, Katie White Horse, and Clifford Monroe; niece Jada Dawn Wilson; and nephew Howard John Wilson.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for James Francis Wilson.
