Funeral services for John Paul Ghost Dog, age 57, will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 4, 2016 St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD with Reverend Luis A. Usera Senior officiating.
Burial will be at 2:30 PM on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Mother Butler Center in Rapid City, SD.
John was veteran in the U.S. Navy.
John was born on January 15, 1959 in Pine Ridge, SD to George Ghost Dog and Virginia Brown Eyes. He passed away on February 25, 2016 at the Fort Meade VA Hospital in Meade, SD.
John is survived by wife Helen Ghost Dog; sons Louis Bo Ghost Dog of Nevada and Steven Ghost Dog of Rapid City, SD; daughter Johnny Helene of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers Chris Ghost Dog of Oglala, SD, Tom Ghost Dog and Bill Ghost Dog of Hot Springs, SD, Smitty Little White Man of Omaha, NE, and George Ghost Dog Jr., David Little White Man, Erik Grinnell and Bob Richard of Rapid City, SD; sisters Audrey Ghost Dog of Wolf Point, MT, Bonnie Little White Man and Joyce Little White Man of Kyle, SD, and Deedee Little White Man and Erna Grinnell of Rapid City, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by parents George Ghost Dog and Virginia Brown Eyes; sister Elena Marie Ghost Dog; and nephew David Newitt.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for John Paul Ghost Dog.
