Funeral services for Gene Alan Witt will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Chamberlain Chapel in Crawford.
Burial will be at the Crawford Cemetery.
Gene was born February 27, 1956 to Gerald and Carol (Callaham) Witt in Crawford, NE. He passed away March 12, 2016 at Chadron, NE. He was raised on the family ranch in Sioux County, went to the one-room school Dist. 51 nearby, and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1974.
Gene was married to Bev Crofutt on April 24, 2002 in Alliance, NE, and he was blessed with three stepchildren through this union. They made their home in the Scottsbluff area.
The majority of Gene’s career involved driving truck for a number of companies. He traveled a lot and had the distinction of driving over a million miles accident-free.
He was preceded in death by parents Gerald and Carol Witt and wife Beverly.
Survivors include stepchildren Wendy (Billy) Glassburn, Kelly Race, and Joe Donbraska; step-grandchildren Kadee, Hunter, and Natalie; brothers Gary (Bev) and Mike (Cheryl) Witt; sister Cyndee (Mike) Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law Erby (Joan) Crofutt, Charlie (Olga) Crofutt, Twila (Jim) Conley, Sharon (Trevor) Hasse, Janice Crofutt, Terry (Karen) Crofutt, Jimmi (Dawn) Crofutt, and Bobbie Crofutt; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements for Gene Alan Witt.
