Funeral services for Lorelei Beth Red Shirt “Wolakota Win,” age 43, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Rockyford School Gym in Rockyford, SD. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Francis “Chubbs” Thunder Hawk.
Burial will be at St. Julia’s Episcopal Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 4:30 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Native American Church Meeting House in Evergreen, SD. The second night will begin at 4:30 PM on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Rockyford School Gym in Rockyford, SD.
Lorelei was born on October 14, 1972 in Denver, CO to Lawrence Red Shirt and Roberta Whiting. She passed away on April 9, 2016 at the SanfordMedicalCenter in Sioux Falls, SD.
Lorelei is survived by mother Roberta Whiting of Porcupine, SD; son Charles Red Shirt of Butte, MT; daughters Trisha Little Spotted Horse of Rapid City, SD, Wiyaka Little Spotted Horse of Porcupine, SD, and Evelyn Red Shirt of Parker, SD; brothers Osceola Red Shirt of Roswell, NM, Jason Jack of Rapid City, SD, and Wanbli Red Shirt of Wounded Knee, SD; sisters Jennifer Red Shirt of Brookings, SD, Janet Whiting and Brianne Whiting of Porcupine, SD, and Catherine Keeton of Kansas City, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorelei was preceded in death by father Lawrence Red Shirt; grandmother Winnie White Face; uncles Eugene Sam Red Shirt and Mick Hawk Wing; and aunts Darlene Red Shirt and Marge Red Shirt.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Lorelei Beth Red Shirt “Wolakota Win.”
