04/27/2016 - Harold 'Duane' Hymer

A Military Honor Service for Harold “Duane” Hymer, age 73, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 27 at the American Legion Post at Crawford City Park, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Crawford Eagles Club.
 
A memorial has been established for The American Cancer Association, The American Heart Association or The American Red Cross.
 
Duane passed away on April 12, 2016 with his sister at his side in his home in Idaho Falls, ID after a long battle with multiple health issues. He was born March 11, 1943 in Crawford, NE, the son of George “Jake” Hymer and Gladys Irene Hill.
 
Duane was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era, enlisting in 1962, where he earned several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He served 20 years with distinction, retiring in 1982, as a Command Master Chief Petty Officer.
 
With his experience in the Navy Nuclear Program, he continued excelling in the civilian world with the Department of Energy under such companies as INEL, EG&G, Martin Marietta and Turner, and Harper and Associates. He retired as a Private Consultant for many programs under the DOE.
 
Duane is survived by son Richard G. Hymer, grandchildren Kimberly Hymer and Sarah Hymer, and sister Georgia “Jo” McCoy. He was preceded in death by parents Jake and Irene Hymer, daughters Kim and Chris Hymer, and wife Sally Hymer.
