04/30/2016 - Elizabeth (Around Him) Little Hawk
Funeral services for Elizabeth Sallie (Around Him) Little Hawk “Sina Sa Win,” age 79, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the WolfCreekSchool with Reverend Rhoda Mesteth, Reverend Abraham Tobacco and Senior Catechist Ben Conquering Bear officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Jerome LeBeau and Ivis Long Visitor.
Burial will be at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Pine Ridge, SD. The second night will start at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Wolf Creek School.
Elizabeth was born on July 30, 1936 in Yellow Bear, Allen, SD to John Around Him Sr. and Zallie Prairie Chicken-Around Him. She made her journey to the Spirit World on April 23, 2016 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Elizabeth is survived by children Antonia S. Little Hawk and Sonia (Dwight) Weston of Pine Ridge, SD, Delores Little Hawk of Rapid City, SD, Debra Little Hawk of Grand Island, NE, Howard Little Hawk and Mona Little Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD, Connie Little Hawk of Rapid City, SD, Marvin Little Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD, Richard Little Hawk Jr. of Calico, SD, Nancy Little Hawk of Rapid City, SD, Elizabeth (Little Hawk) Rowland of Wolf Creek Community, Seymour (Margaret) Young Dog and Nancy Rouillard of Batesland, SD, Marvin (Sylvia) Young Dog of Apache Junction, AZ, Myron (Sandra) Shields of Garry Owen, MT, Virginia Irving of Denver, CO, and Amos Young Dog of Batesland, SD; sister Annie Fineran of Allen, SD; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by parents John Sr. and Zallie Around Him; brother John Around Him Jr.; sister Dora Young Dog; son Edwin Around Him; and husband Richard Little Hawk Sr.
Pallbearers will be Charles Little Hawk, Corwin Bagola Sr., Arthur Ecoffey Sr., Owen Rouillard Jr., Manuel Garcia Jr., Mark Little Hawk, Ryan Running Shield, and Edwin Around Him Jr.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Elizabeth Sallie (Around Him) Little Hawk “Sina Sa Win.”
