She brought Joy to the world, but she left it on April 27, 2016 in Lonetree, CO with many of her family standing by her side. She was born October 26, 1928, the sixth of seven children born to Harry and LaRue Norman. She attended country school outside of Whitney and high school in Crawford, NE. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1950, where she was a member of Delta Gamma.

She married Robert Isham of Chadron in 1950. They were ranchers and bankers for their entire lives. Joy was on the board of directors of the First National Bank of Gordon in 1962 and was elected chairman of the board upon Bob’s death in 1994. Joy was the most energetic woman and wore many other hats. She was a children’s choir director, a Sunday school teacher, an elementary school teacher, a polio survivor, a pet lover, and the life of any party. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by children Julie (Bill) Jennings of Lone Tree, CO, Glory (Mike) Burns of Fort Collins, CO, Robin Isham of Templeton, CA, Andrea (Galen) Voss of Chadron, NE, and Will Isham of Gordon, NE; grandchildren William Jennings of Scottsdale, AZ, Matthew (Erica) Jennings of Denver, CO, Jay (Jessamyn) Voss of Gordon, NE, Cornilius (Tatyana) Ray of Denver, CO, Drew Isham of Fort Worth, TX, Joy Voss of Chadron, NE, and Nick and Rob Burns of Steamboat Springs, CO; and five great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
