Funeral services for Jackie Ann Richard “Ta Hunska To’ Win,” age 15, will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Ty Lunderman, Thomas Cloud Horse, and Joe Giago.
Burial will be at the Porcupine Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Jackie was born on August 15, 2000 in Pine Ridge, SD to James A Richard Sr. and Theresa Blue Bird. She passed away on April 20, 2016 at the St. Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa, OK.
Jackie is survived by mother Theresa Blue Bird of Rapid City, SD; father James Richard Sr. of Pine Ridge, SD; godparents Jacky and Marvin Richards Sr.; brothers Justes Scott, James Richard Jr., Jonathan Richard, and Alexander Richard of Pine Ridge, SD and Dakota Richard of Rapid City, SD; sisters Skuya Christensen and Tahco Christensen of Denver, CO, Edna Richard of Pierre, SD, and Kadell Richard of Pine Ridge, SD; and maternal grandparents Richard and Ethleen Two Dogs.
Jackie was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Emma Two Crow and Tommy Richard; maternal grandparents Theodora Tail and Bryan Blue Bird Sr. and Edna Apple; sister Jamie Richard; brother Dean Richard; and first cousin Emily Anne Blue Bird.
