Funeral services for Ethel May (Landreth) Blair, age 82, of Clinton, NE will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Gordon, NE.
Burial will be in the Gordon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon, NE.
A memorial has been established, and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.

Ethel passed away on May 6, 2016 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs, NE. She was born on May 16, 1933 on the family farm north of Hay Springs to Alva and Eva (Polen) Landreth. She was the 8th of 10 children. The family moved to a farm north of Rushville, where she grew up and attended country school through the 8th grade. Not having the opportunity to go to high school, she proudly earned her GED in 1980 with her sister Grace. In her younger years, Ethel worked various food service jobs before she started working at Otte Packing Plant, where she worked many years. She left Otte’s to start her own bakery in Gordon. After owning her own business, she went back to cooking for other people, including a food van she operated with her husband, Levi. They traveled to auctions all over the Panhandle, where she became known for her cinnamon rolls and pies. She proudly provided her customers with home cooking and generous portions.
In October 1965, she gave birth to son David. On August 19, 1973, she married Levi Blair, where she gained two more sons, Richard and James.
She was an avid collector of cookbooks. That passion was only exceeded by her love of playing cards. She enjoyed baking and sewing in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers, sisters Barbara and Thelma, and brothers Lloyd and Floyd. She is survived by husband Levi; sons Richard (partner Connie) of Frazee, MN, David (partner Kay) of Elwood, and James (partner Patty) of Gordon, NE; grandchildren Lacy and Kade (wife Shianna); two great-grandchildren; brothers Albert (wife Evelyn) and Vern; sister Grace (husband Duane); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon is in charge of arrangements for Ethel May (Landreth) Blair.
