Funeral services of 58-year old Carl William Garnette Sr of Wounded Knee will be this Saturday (May 21) at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle with Father Rick Abert officiating.

Burial will be at St Stephens Catholic Church Cemetery in Kyle.

A two night wake service will begin Thursday (May 19) at 2:00, also in the Our Lady of Sorrows Hall in Kyle.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements for Carl William Garnette Sr.

Carl William Garnette, Sr. “Wanbli Sa’ek” was born on December 4, 1957 in Pine Ridge, SD to Charles and Eloise (Ruff) Garnette. Carl passed away on May 14, 2016 at his home in Wounded Knee, SD.

Carl is survived by his sons, Carl Garnette, Jr. and Shaun Garnette both of Rapid City, SD; daughter, Mandy Standing Bear of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Ramona Ashmore of Salt Lake City, UT, Alice Camargo of Lincoln, NE, Jackie Hernandez of Gordon, NE, Phyllis Little Moon of Wounded Knee, SD, and Elvira Mosqueda of Fort Morgan, CO; and grandchildren, Antonio, Alex, Andre, Essence, Adelina, Jayden, Janie, Karley, and Violet.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Charle and Eloise Garnette; brothers, Renzol Palmier, Donald Garnette, Marvin Garnette, Harlen Garnette, and Francis Garnette; and sisters, Myrnette Janis and Arthureen Tomayo.
