Funeral services for Juan Allen LaMont, age 24, will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Pine Ridge High School Gymnasium in Pine Ridge, SD with Pastor John Two Bulls, RT Rev. Bishop John Tarrant and The Right Reverend Harold Eagle Bull officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Leonard Crow Dog.
Burial will be at the Advent Cemetery in the Calico Community of Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Pine Ridge High School Gymnasium in Pine Ridge, SD.
Juan “Juany” passed away on May 23, 2016 in Slim Buttes, SD. He was born in Scottsbluff, NE on November 7, 1991. He was the firstborn son of Stepheny LaMont and Raymond Raygoza.
As a young child, Juan brought a smile to the faces of his loved ones. He was known as a happy baby and spoiled; he wanted his father to carry him around, and his father did just that. As an adult, Juan grew up to be a loving father, son, grandson, and friend. He was helpful and always ready to lend a helping hand, especially to his grandmothers. He was a hard worker and made a lasting impression on the people he met and the people he worked with. Juan was a kind, loving, and protective father to his children. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and maintaining his favorite car, his Hummer.
Juan is survived by daughters Milaunia LaMont and Juanesssa LaMont and an unborn child; parents Stepheny LaMont and Raymond Raygoza; little brother Ricardo Raygoza; grandmother Gaylene Tyon; and great-grandmother Sybil Hernandez.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Juan Allen LaMont.
