Funeral services for Riley Dennis Thunder Horse, age 5, will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson, SD with The Right Reverend Harold Eagle Bull, Pastor Cecelia Spotted Bear, and Joyce Tibbitts officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Richard Broken Nose.
Burial will be at the FireThunderFamilyCemetery in Manderson, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee, SD. The second night will start at 1:30 PM on Monday, May 30, 2016 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson, SD.
Riley was born on August 20, 2010 in Pine Ridge, SD to Lloyd Thunder Horse and Lynelle Running Hawk. He passed away on May 22, 2016 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Riley is survived by father Lloyd Thunder Horse of Pine Ridge, SD; mother Lynelle Running Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD; brother Leland Thunder Horse of Pine Ridge, SD; grandparents Olivia Grass of Manderson, SD, Frank Thunder Horse of Fort Thompson, SD, and Doug Running Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD; aunts Aubree Hudspeth of Oglala, SD, Stephanie Running Hawk, Grace Clifford, and Miranda Thunder Horse of Rapid City, SD, and Taryn Running Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD; and uncles Leonard Thunder Horse and Lorne Thunder Horse of Manderson, SD and Lonnie Thunder Horse of Rapid City, SD.
Riley was preceded in death by grandparents Diane Running Hawk, Lita Running Hawk, Paul Thunder Horse, and Shirley Yellow Horse and great-grandparents Edison and Victoria Fire Thunder, Frank Crazy Thunder, Dorothy Freeman, Lawrence Hollow Horn, Grace American Horse, and Annabelle Hollow Horn.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Riley Dennis Thunder Horse.
