Memorial services for David John Caswell, age 69, of Chadron, NE, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, NE with Dr. Russ Seger officiating.
A celebration of David’s life will immediately follow at the American Legion Hall in Chadron.
A memorial has been established for the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department and Chadron American Legion. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
David passed away suddenly at home on June 8, 2016. Born in England on February 16, 1947, son of John and Elsie, David and his family immigrated to Canada and then to the United States in 1958.
David was raised in Southern California, where he met and married his wife Sharon in 1975. He entered the army in 1967 and fought in the Vietnam War, where he sustained injuries that had a lingering impact on the rest of his life.
David’s early work experience included jobs as a printer, meat cutter and oil and gas driller. Soon after David and Sharon moved to Chadron in 1978, he began working at Chadron State College, where he managed the boiler plant for the last 15 years of his career. David was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. A friend to all, David was always there to listen or lend a hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by wife Sharon, brothers Jack and Leslie, nephew Terry Cunningham Jr., niece Suzanne Agenbroad, great-nephew Brian Agenbroad, great-nieces Melissa Wagner and spouse Sean and Amanda Smith and spouse Thomas, great-great-niece and -nephews Lailee, Thomas, Jonathon and Joel, and a host of other family and close friends.
Chamberlain Chapel is in charge of arrangements is in charge of arrangements for David John Caswell.
