Funeral services for Jamar Edward Iron Horse, age 26, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Father Joe Daoust and Pastor Ken Trivette officiating.
Burial will be at the HunterFamilyCemetery in Calico, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Jamar Edward Iron Horse was born on July 9, 1990 to Jacob Iron Horse Sr. and Caroline Hunter in Pine Ridge, SD. He passed away on July 21, 2016 in Osceola, MO.
His favorite aunties were Sis Catches, Wilma Pomani, Therese Hunter, and Renae Black Elk. There was never a dull moment with Jamar. There was always something he had to do. He was a get go guy. He loved Alfernando Hunter and ShaLaya Shott and all his nephews and nieces, especially Talia-Jontay, his little sister.
Jamar is survived by mother Caroline G. Hunter of Pine Ridge, SD; father Jacob V. Iron Horse Sr. of #4 Community; son Jesse Iron Horse of Batesland, SD; daughter Jontay Iron Horse of Bismarck, ND; siblings Monte Hunter of Pine Ridge, SD, Jeremy Iron Horse Sr. of Rapid City, SD, Jasmine Iron Horse of #4 Community, Jensine Iron Horse of Allen, SD, Tiana Hunter of Pine Ridge, SD, and Tayia Hunter of Fort Defiance, AZ; uncle Ralph Hunter of Fort Defiance, AZ; nieces and nephews McKinley Hunter of Calico, SD, Jeda, Stryker, Jacinda, and Visten, all of Pine Ridge, SD and Casey, Khaliah, Kaden, Khanish, Khamiah, and Leariah, all of Rapid City, SD; grandson Alfernando Hunter of Pine Ridge, SD; and cousins Conrad Iron Horse of Scottsbluff, NE and Christopher New Holy of Rapid City, SD.
Jamar was preceded in death by brothers Jacob V. Iron Horse Jr. and Jamie Iron Horse; sisters Misty Hunter, Jackie Iron Horse, and Danielle Iron Horse; son Edward J. Iron Horse; grandparents Ivalyon Catches-Hunter and Lawrence Hunter; and great-grandparents Rosa Catches, Bertha Wounded, and Jackson Iron Horse.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Jamar Edward Iron Horse.
