Funeral services for Herbert Garfield Wounded Head II “Wanbli Iyanka,” age 68, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Allen CAP Office in Allen, SD with Reverend Harold Eagle Bull officiating.
Cremation will follow the funeral services.
A one-night wake service will begin at 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Allen CAP Office in Allen, SD.
Herbert was born on May 30, 1948 at Sharps Corner, SD to Garfield Herbert Wounded Head Sr. and Hannah (Rock) Wounded Head. He made his journey to the Spirit World on July 24, 2016 at his home in Allen, SD.
Herbert is survived by son Herbert Wounded Head III of Brookings, SD; daughters Meghan Wounded Head and Chelsea Wounded Head of Sioux Falls, SD; brother Anthony Wounded Head Sr. of Porcupine, SD; sisters Marilyn Wounded Head-Higgens of Topeka, KS and Arlene LaPointe of Sacramento, CA; grandson Gabriel Wounded Head of Brookings, SD; and significant other Pat Frazier of Allen, SD.
Herbert was preceded in death by parents Garfield Sr. and Hanna Wounded Head; sister Cheryl Montileaux; brothers Wesley Palmier; and a stillborn brother.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Herbert Garfield Wounded Head II “Wanbli Iyanka.”
