Funeral services for Eugene Edward Fast Wolf “Oskate Hoksila,” age 49, will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Ivis Long Visitor.
Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD. A Rosary service will start at 7:00 PM.
Eugene was born on March 5, 1967 in Pine Ridge, SD to Reuben Fast Wolf and Christine Blacksmith. Eugene made his journey to the Spirit World on September 1, 2016 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Eugene is survived by mother Christine (Blacksmith) Lajtay of Oglala, SD; sons Douglas and Dwight Fast Wolf of Rapid City, SD; daughters Charlene, Jillian, and Ashley, all of Rapid City, SD and Rae A. Fast Wolf of Prescott, NM; brothers Russell Fast Wolf Sr. of Oglala, SD, Gerald Fast Wolf of Oglala, SD, Trent Fast Wolf of Oglala, SD, and Aljoe Lajtay of Rapid City, SD; sisters Janet and Betty Fast Wolf of Oglala, SD, Deidre Blacksmith of Rapid City, SD and Sue Fast Wolf of Mescalero, NM; granddaughters Kymani Fast Wolf of Rapid City, SD and Kashora Fast Wolf of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by father Rueben Fast Wolf; grandparents Edward and Dora Fast Wolf and Max and Hazel Blacksmith; and niece Annie Chief Eagle.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Eugene Edward Fast Wolf “Oskate Hoksila.”
