09/10/2016 - Rose Evelyn LaDeaux

Funeral services for Rose Evelyn LaDeaux, “Tatanka Opomani Win,” age 73, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD with Father Christopher Johnson, S.J., and Joyce Tibbitts officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Doug Patton.
 
Burial will be at the St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Manderson, SD.
 
A one-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD.
 
Rose was born on July 13, 1943 in Manderson, SD to Benjamin Eugene LaDeaux and Bessie Kills Small. She passed away on September 4, 2016 in Rapid City, SD.
 
Rose is survived by sisters Kathy (Dave) Janis of Manderson, SD, Pearl Cournoyer of Marty, SD and Pauline (LaDeaux) Palmer of Pine Ridge, SD; daughters Elfreda (Andrew) Cottier of Rapid City, SD and Darlene “Kidd” Young of Mission, SD; grandchildren Ed (Katie) Bissonette, Tye Jr. (Talana) Bissonette, Deanna (Schuyler) Lammers, Eric (Christine) Bissonette, Bessie (Jason) Bissonette and Schuyler “Sky” Young, all of Rapid City, Cody Young of Chadron, NE, Shawn Dee and Nicole Young of Mission, SD, and Andrew Jr. and Daniel Cottier of Rapid City, SD; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
 
Rose was preceded in death by parents Eugene and Bessie LaDeaux; husband Dean Pourier; son Louis “Boy” Young; sisters Theresa Hill, Midge Morgan, and Linda Iron Whiteman; brothers Abe, Sam, Bat and Fred LaDeaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Rose Evelyn LaDeaux, “Tatanka Opomani Win.”
