Funeral services for Ernestine Gail Graham-Dowty “Tawacin Okinihan Win,” age 78, will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Vetal Fire Hall in Vetal, SD with Father Ben Black Bear Jr. officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Roy Stone.
Burial will be at St. CharlesCatholicCemetery in St. Francis, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Vetal Fire Hall in Vetal, SD.
Ernestine was born on August 18, 1938 in Pine Ridge, SD to Ernest Graham and Suzanne Richards. She made her journey to the Spirit World on September 10, 2016 at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City, SD.
Ernestine is survived by daughter Desire Karen White Eyes-Broken Rope of Vetal, SD; son Theodore Earl Graham-White Eyes of Rapid City, SD; sisters Karen Kay Kauley of Rapid City, SD and Crystal Ann Bordeaux of Hot Springs, SD; grandchildren Renee Joyce LaPointe and Joscelyn White Eyes Gibson of Rapid City, SD; and great-grandchildren Edward Compton, Enoch Robert Compton, and Ethan Elmer Compton.
Ernestine was preceded in death by parents Ernest Graham and Suzanne Richards and sisters Beverly Joyce Dowty and Elizabeth Rose Congreve.
