Funeral services for Benita Lou Swift Bird will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb officiating.

Burial will be at theNew Holy Family Cemetery in Grass Creek, SD.

A one-night wake service will start at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.

Benita was born on February 12, 1969 in Pine Ridge, SD to Benjamin White Face Sr. and Nancy New Holy-Marshall. She made her journey to the Spirit World on September 8, 2016 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.

Benita is survived by mother Nancy Marshall of Hot Springs, SD; son Farron Swift Bird of Salt Lake City, UT; daughters Sasheen Swift Bird of Pine Ridge, SD, Tia Swift Bird of Rapid City, SD, Latonna White Face of Hot Springs, SD, and Tierra Swift Bird of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Clint Marshall and Hobert Marshall III of Rapid City, SD, Quinton Marshall of Birmingham, AL, and Brian Belt of Denver, CO; sisters Tamera Marshall of Ronan, MT, Trina Felix of White Shield, ND, and Arlene White Face of Rapid City, SD; and six grandchildren.

Benita was preceded in death by father Benjamin White Face Sr.; brother Jed New Holy; and sister Tanya Marshall.
