Graveside services for Vayda Janelle Standing Soldier, age 10 weeks gestational age, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Gordon City Cemetery in Gordon, NE with a dinner to follow at the Ilea Standing Soldier residence, 606 Fairview Drive in Gordon, NE. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Alfonso American Horse.
Burial will be at the Gordon Cemetery in Gordon, NE.
Vayda was born on September 12, 2016 in Scottsbluff, NE to Tyrel Standing Soldier and Katrina Velazquez. She made her journey to the Spirit World on September 12, 2016 at RegionalWestMedicalCenter in Scottsbluff, NE.
Vayda is survived by parents Tyrel Standing Soldier of Gordon, NE and Katrina Velazquez of Porcupine, SD; brother Braxton Velazquez of Porcupine, SD; grandparents Willie and Emily Garnette of Gordon, NE and Lionel Velazquez of Tijuana, Mexico; great-grandparents Burgess Bianas of Batesland, SD and Luis and Jackie Hernandez of Gordon, NE; aunts Cortinia Standing Soldier of Rushville, NE, Ilea and Shaylene Standing Soldier of Gordon, NE, and Georgia, Timber and Arie Hornbeck, all of Evergreen, SD; and uncles Trevor and Cody Standing Soldier and Atila Black Calf, all of Gordon, NE.
Vayda was preceded in death by grandmothers Mary Beth Standing Soldier and Vonda Bianas.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Vayda Janelle Standing Soldier.
