Vicki passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at ChadronCommunityHospital with her son by her side. She was born February 3, 1954 to Charles and Jocie (Hoffmann) Kuhnel at ChadronMemorialHospital in Chadron, NE.

Vick lived in Harrison, NE until the age of three, when the family moved to Granada Hills, CA in 1956. She attended SylmarHigh School and graduated in 1971. She married Richard Espinoza Sr. in Van Nuys, CA in 1972. Two sons, Richard Jr. and Wayne, were born to this union. Vicki later divorced and married George Overton on August 9, 1980. To this union another son was born, George Jr., and she became the stepmother to Robin, Tracy, and Mikki Overton.

Vicki began working at GTE, a land-line phone company in July 1978, which later became Verizon, retiring June 10, 2006. Vicki and Mama Jo traveled to Nebraska and Wyoming many times to visit brothers/sons Ed Kuhnel and Steve Kuhnel and families. The two loved to travel, and collected magnets of each state they traveled to.

In 2006, she purchased Saddle Rock Lanes and a home in Crawford. In 2007, Vicki and Mama Jo moved back to Crawford. After moving, Vicki co-owned the bowling alley with her son Wayne and wife Jessica. During the October 2013 Blizzard, the roof collapsed, causing them to close the businesses’ doors. She enjoyed bowling, camping at LakeMcConaughy with her brother Steve, golfing daily with brother Ed and taking her son’s dog, Daisy, with her. She was an avid Husker fan, and one of her greatest highlights was going to Memorial Stadium and taking a picture on the 50-yard line.

Vicki was a very caring, giving, and loving person, taking care of Mama Jo until her death in November 2015. She was all about family, taking great pride in all that her grandchildren were involved in and getting to meet her great-grandson Logan in April 2016. She even took in her extended family, the Greens, Bosaks, and Victorys, and enjoyed many holidays and Sunday Fundays with them all.

Vicki is survived by sons Richard and Glenda Espinoza of San Jose, CA, Wayne and Jess Espinoza of Crawford, NE, and George Overton of Crawford, NE; grandchildren Ricky Espinoza, Christina and Isaac Brown, and Jessica Espinoza, all of Sylmar, CA, Nicole Zuniga of Santa Clarita, CA, and Clarissa and Marc Espinoza of Crawford, NE; great-grandson Logan Espinoza of Sylmar, CA; daughters Robin Overton of Acton, CA and Tracy Dowdell of Lancaster, CA; son-in-law Ron Burkman of Santa Clarita, CA; grandchildren Joey and Lewis Barro, Brittany and Sydnie Dowdell, and Makenzi Burkman of California; great-grandchildren Noah and Zoey Santerre of California; brothers Ed and Pam Kuhnel of Crawford, NE and Steve and Sherrie Kuhnel of Gillette, WY; sister Esther Kuhnel of Cheyenne, WY; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Chuck Kuhnel, daughter Mikki Overton, and grandson Matthew Burkman.
