Funeral services for Aloysius Rufus High Hawk Jr., age 59, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Helen Kills Crow Indian Residence in Evergreen, SD. Traditional Lakota services are To Be Announced.
Burial will be at the NativeAmericanChurchCemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will start at 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD. The second night will start at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Helen Kills Crow Residence in Evergreen.
Aloysius was born on August 28, 1957 in Cozad, NE to Aloysius High Hawk Sr. and Julia Bird Head-High Hawk. He made his journey to the Spirit World on September 25, 2016 at Rapid CityRegionalHospital in Rapid City, SD.
Aloysius is survived by daughters Valerie High Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD and Julie High Hawk, Darlene High Hawk-Escamilia, and Harrietta High Hawk, all of Rapid City, SD; sisters Rosemary Thunder Hawk, Virginia Kills Crow Indian, and Helen Kills Crow Indian, all of Porcupine, SD; 24 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Aloysius was preceded in death by parents Aloysius Sr. and Julia High Hawk; special friend Fannie Lone Elk; brothers Mitchell High Hawk, Larry Kills Crow Indian, Val High Hawk, George Kills Crow Indian, and Burtan High Hawk; sister Alberta High Hawk; son Aloysius High Hawk III; and grandson Trinity Brave Heart.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Aloysius Rufus High Hawk Jr.
