Elfreda Ann Takes War Bonnett was born on June 29, 1997 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leo Takes War Bonnett, Jr. and Jennifer Chase Alone.  Elfreda made her journey to the Spirit World on October 6, 2016 in Pine Ridge, SD.

Elfreda attended Wounded Knee Headstart, Batesland School, and graduated high school from Pine Ridge High School in 2015.  She enjoyed good times, loved her family, pizza, and fancy dancing.  Elfreda was engaged to Peter Marungo and was intending to leave to be with him to start her married life. 

Ellie loved her trip to Las Vegas, NV in June of 2016, she was so glad to make it there and loved seeing all the sites.  We will love you and miss you sweetie!  We had 19 years together my baby girl.

Elfreda is survived by her mother, Jennifer Chase Alone of Wounded Knee, SD; father, Leo Takes War Bonnett, Jr. of Manderson, SD; step-father, Dale Bear Saves Life of Oglala, SD; step-mother, Amy Jumping Eagle of Manderson, SD; fiancé, Peter Marungo of Chicago, IL; sisters, Madonna Takes War Bonnett and Nicollette Takes War Bonnett both of Wounded Knee, SD, Billie Squirrel Coat, Rose Jumping Eagle, and Amaris Bull Bear all of Manderson, SD; brother, Leo Takes War Bonnett III of Wounded Knee, SD; sister-in-law, Veronica Left Hand of Wounded, SD; step-brothers, Phillip and Terrell Catt both of Manderson, SD, Melvin (Misty Brings Plenty) Blacksmith of Rapid City, SD; nephews, Jett Takes War Bonnett of Wounded Knee, SD, Thaddeus Bear Saves Life of Oglala, SD, Nicholas Blacksmith and Dale Blacksmith both of Rapid City, SD; nieces, Patience Blacksmith and Camille Blacksmith both of Rapid City, SD; step-sister, Michelle Bear Saves Life of Oglala, SD; grandmother, Elfreda Wounded Horse of Wounded Knee, SD, and numerous aunties and uncles.

Elfreda was preceded in death by her grandparents, George Chase Alone, Sr., Leo, Sr. & Sophie Takes War Bonnett, Regina & Dale Chase Alone, Carlita Takes War Bonnett, and Ray, Sr. & Delores Takes War Bonnett.

Wake Services:  Two night wake service starting at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Church of God in Wounded Knee, SD.

Funeral Services:  1:00 PM, Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Church of God in Wounded Knee, SD.

Officiating:  Pastor Larry Cohen and Pastor Stanley Hollow Horn

Burial Services:  Messiah Episcopal Church Cemetery, Wounded Knee, SD.
