10/15/2016 - Arlette (Blacksmith) Loud Hawk

 Arlette Vean (Blacksmith) Loud Hawk was born on October 19, 1959 in Pine Ridge, SD to Russell (Broken Nose) Loud Hawk and Estella (Bad Heart Bull) Loud Hawk.  Arlette made her journey to the Spirit World on October 7, 2016 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD. 

Arlette is survived by her children, Russell Blacksmith of Pine Ridge, SD, Ryan Blacksmith of Kyle, SD, and Tyson Blacksmith of Oglala, SD; daughter, Starlight White Bull of Pine Ridge, SD; hunka sons, Matthew of New York, Chauncey Brown of Pine Ridge, SD and Edward Grass of Wounded Knee, SD; hunka brother, Russell Redner of Argentina; and 9 grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Arlette was preceded in death by her parents, Russell (Broken Nose) Loud Hawk and Estella (Bad Heart Bull) Loud Hawk; brothers, Sam, Ronnie and Kenny Loud Hawk; sister, Paula Loud Hawk; and daughter, Wolakota Win Loud Hawk.

Wake Services:  Two night wake service with the first night starting at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD, the second night starting at 2:00 PM, Friday, at the Loud Hawk Family residence on Lakeside Road near Oglala, SD

Funeral Services:  2:00 PM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Loud Hawk Family Residence on Lakeside Road near Oglala, SD

Traditional Lakota Services:  Mr. Leonard Crow Dog, Mr. Eric Cross and Mr. Emerson Spider of the Native American Church

Burial Services:  Loud Hawk Family Cemetery, Lakeside Community, near Oglala, South Dakota
