Funeral services for "Steve" Stephen Charles Orr, age 67, of Rapid City, SD (formerly of Rushville and Chadron, NE) will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, NE with Reverend Al Trucano officiating.

Burial will be a private family event at Fairview Cemetery in Rushville, NE. Some of his ashes will also be scattered at the Orr Family Ranch in the beautiful Sandhills. This will allow him to watch over loved ones and places of peace.

A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association to help find a cure. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Steve was born on October 1, 1949 in Rushville, NE. He passed away on October 20, 2016 at his home in Rapid City, SD. His spirit is carried on by son Jason, wife Maya and two sons of Sidney NE; daughter Andrea, husband Davor, and two sons of Bountiful, UT; son Bradley of Melbourne, Australia; parents Leo and Rose of Gordon NE; brother Monte of Hay Springs, NE; sister Donella of Fort Calhoun NE; and friends of every walk of life. He will be reunited with his birth mother Faye Mitchell Orr in the great beyond.

He loved riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle through the Black Hills with his girlfriend, having coffee with friends, taking daily walks through the city park and fixing anything that was broken. He lived a vigorous life, full of fun and laughter, until the end of his 30-year battle with diabetes. He was a skilled pharmacist for all of his working career and was a life-long learner.
