Funeral services for Marlene Gertrude Jealous of Him, age 83, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD with Reverend Stanley Hollow Horn officiating.
Burial will be at the Body of Christ Catholic Church Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Church of God in Wounded Knee, SD. The second night will start at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD.
Marlene was born on December 12, 1932 in Pine Ridge, SD to Frank Jealous of Him I and Agnes White Face. She made her journey to the Spirit World on October 23, 2016 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Marlene is survived by son Franklin Poor Bear Sr. of Wounded Knee, SD; grandchildren Anne Marie, April Glenna, Franklin, Francis Lyn, and Heather Poor Bear, all of Wounded Knee, SD, and Franky Jo and Eliel R. Poor Bear of Kadoka, SD; great-grandchildren Kaitlin Catches, Marlene Catches, Jake Catches, Terry Lyn Poor Bear, Keaunna, Miranda, and Ariel Poor Bear, Shania Cheyenne, Tristin “T.J.” Mallory, Desmond, Damien, and Ava Thin Elk, Asia Raine, Zack, Kaleb, and Tallon Big Crow, Mia Serenity, Kyla, and Mastewin Carpio; and great-great-grandchildren Eliel Reno Catches and Jesse Wakiyan McClain.
Marlene was preceded in death by parents Frank Jealous of Him I and Agnes White Face; siblings Oscar, Louis, Woodrow, Sophia (Jealous of Him-Pumpkin Seed), and Edith Jealous of Him.
