Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, Nov 2, in Grants Pass, Oregon, for Emma Von "Sug" Axtell of Grants Pass. A memorial celebration of life will be held in the spring.

Sug was born to Roy and Epsie (Roberson) Siebert on Aug 10, 1922, in Sadler, Texas, and died Oct 26, 2016, in Grants Pass.

She met Mark Axtell of Grants Pass on a bus in 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he was serving in the Army Air Corps. They were married the following Valentine's Day in Sadler and shared more than 66 years together before his death in 2009.

The couple bought a home in Grants Pass in 1945 before Mark's discharge and Sug still lived in the remodeled and enlarged house at the time of her death.

She leaves behind 3 children: Darrell (Maureen) of Olympia, Washington; John of Chadron; and Mary (Roy) Fash of Highland Heights, Ohio; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Hull and Hull Funeral Home of Grants Pass is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.since1928hull.com
