Funeral services for Moses Henry Red Bear, age 33, will be at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Allen, SD with Father Rick Abert, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mike Cross.
Burial will be provided by St. John of the CrossCatholicCemetery in Allen, SD.
A two-night wake service will start at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Allen, SD.
Moses was born on March 1, 1983 in Pine Ridge, SD to Jeff Curry Sr. and Susann Red Bear. He made his journey to the Spirit World on November 12, 2016 in Martin, SD.
Moses is survived by children Keanue, Harley, Lucin and McKenzi Red Bear, all of Allen, SD and Trinity Poor Thunder of Martin, SD; stepdaughter River Little Dog of Allen, SD; grandson Rylee Little Dog of Allen, SD; sister Pearl Red Bear of Hannibal, MO; brothers Bryan Red Bear of Lincoln, NE, Darren Red Bear and Kadin Red Bear of Hannibal, MO, and Frank Red Bear of Allen, SD; half-brothers Jeff Curry Jr. of St. Francis, SD, Leon Kills Small and Jarod Curry of Allen, SD, Roby Standing Bear of Martin, SD, and Tate Curry of Sioux Falls, SD; half-sister Megan Rooks of Wanblee, SD; adopted mom Maria Whirlwind Horse; special uncle John Whirlwind Horse; and special aunt Devona Lone Wolf.
Moses was preceded in death by parents Jeff Curry Sr. and Susann Red Bear; brother Adrian Red Bear; maternal grandparents Raymond Whirlwind Horse Sr., Pearl Whirlwind Horse, William Whirlwind Horse, and Verbena Red Bear; paternal grandparents Albert Curry Sr. and Beatrice Curry; uncles Raymond Whirlwind Horse Jr. and Paul Whirlwind Horse; aunts Pauline Whirlwind Horse and Wauneta Lone Wolf; and best friends Dezmond Poor Bear and Jesse Vasquez.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Moses Henry Red Bear.
