Funeral services for Eli Charles Clifford Jr., age 38 years, 3 months and 28 days, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Christopher Johnson, S.J., Father Peter Klink, S.J., and Charles McGaa officiating.
Burial will be at the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Rockyford, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Eli passed away on November 16, 2016 in Rapid City, SD. He was born on July 19, 1978, the beloved son of Eli Clifford Sr. and Frankee Gallego. He attended school at Pine Ridge Elementary and Red Cloud through the 4th and 6th grade; he was also at Our Lady of Lourdes for 7th grade and Wolf Creek School for the 8th grade. He spent his freshman year at Red Cloud until he was accused of having a weapon in his possession (his tattoo needle).
Everyone who knew Eli knew him as a non-violent person. He was respectful, caring, and very creative. He graduated from Pine Ridge High School in 1997 and then attended Full Sail University in Orlando, FL for a year and half, majoring in Studio Sound Technician.
Eli’s daughter, Teca Clifford, was born on June 22, 2003. She was the love of his life. He spent a great deal of time with her as a young child taking care of her. Eli suffered from many physical disabilities, but in the last months of his life he was especially despondent over the loss of his father and daughter. Eli Sr. passed away seven months ago in April and his beloved daughter, Teca, passed away in July. He loved them both dearly.
Eli is now in the Spirit World with father Eli; daughter Teca; grandmother Beulah Gallego; nephew Shawn Clifford; and friend Gaylord Catches. Eli no longer suffers; be happy for him.
Eli is survived by mother Frankee White Dress; stepfather Paul 'Chili' White Dress; brothers Lenny Clifford, Cory Clifford Sr., Travis White Dress, Alvin White Dress, Bo Morrison, William Hill-White Dress, Logan Poor Bear, Tyson Broken Leg, and Elijah White Dress; sisters Julia Clifford, Phaedra Madden, Daphne Janis, Angelina Hill-White Dress, Camiya White Dress, Wetu White Dress, Marty Ciccia, Ambert Mesteth, and Patsy White Dress; aunts and uncles Lenny and Marie Clifford, Don Clifford, Rosie Clifford, Sister Geraldine, Lynn Gallego, Sherry Steele, Margaret “Cis” Vitalis, Emma Gallego, Gary Steele, and Ron “Beef” Randall.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Eli Charles Clifford Jr.
