She spent most of her childhood in Wauneta, NE, where she graduated from high school in 1981. She attended a veterinary school in Curtis, NE; this is where she met her future husband, Tim Hans of Seward, NE. They were united in marriage in 1982. Together they had two sons, Wyatt and Callan Hans. Later they were divorced in 1993.
Jackie moved with her two sons to Chadron, NE, where she continued to be a caregiver and mother. She later became a caregiver for Bob Bowen. After several years of companionship, they developed a friendship and deep love and commitment to each other. They were married on November 9, 2003 and were inseparable until Bob’s death on December 16, 2013. This was one of the hardest times in Jackie’s life. On December 16, 2014, Jackie’s life changed for the better with the birth of her first grandchild. Ruger was the joy in her heart. She spent many days visiting Ruger, her son Wyatt and his wife Chandra in Mandan, NE. She loved spending time with them.
Her youngest son, Callan, is currently living in Eugene, OR, where he is pursuing his passion of nature and astrophotography. Jackie and Callan shared a love of nature and the beauty of outdoors.
Her passions were sharing her joy of cooking with friends and family. She enjoyed her garden and flowers and had a deep love for animals. She spent many hours traveling with her mother, visiting family and friends and exploring the history of her family ancestry.
Jackie was preceded in death by father Joseph Kohne; sisters and brothers Linda, Loren, Jim, Diane, and Melissa; and husband Bob Bowen.
Her survivors include sisters Ronnie Schroeder of Gibbon, NE and Tracie Mesecher of Burlington, CO; son Wyatt Hans, his wife Chandra, and son Ruger; and youngest son Callan Hans.
Jackie was a devout Christian, and her faith grew with each passing day. She is reunited with her Lord and soulmate. She will be missed by family and friends.
