12/24/2016 - David Felton Garnier Sr.
Funeral services for David Felton Garnier Sr., age 53, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD with Pastor Don Mink officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Lonnie Little Hoop.
Burial will be at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will run from 2:00-4:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Garnier residence north of Loneman. All night services will start at 4:30 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD.
David was born on January 19, 1963 at his home in Oglala, SD to Dirk Garnier and Evangaline Long. He made his journey to the Spirit World on December 16, 2016 at his home north of Oglala, SD.
David is survived by wife Georgiana (Picket Pin) Garnier of Oglala, SD; sons David Garnier Jr. of Alliance, NE, Dirk Garnier, Dakota Garnier, Bobby Joe Garnier, and Billy Joe Garnier, all of Oglala, SD, and Shawn Cross of Alliance, NE; daughters Georgiana Cross of Hot Springs, SD and Kadence Garnier of Oglala, SD; parents Dirk Garnier of Oglala, SD and Evangaline Long of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Dale Garnier of Pine Ridge, SD and Stanley Garnier of Oglala, SD; sister Myra Garnier of Oglala, SD; grandchildren Cassandra, Davida, Nevaeh, Dakota Jr., Dasian, Kitahna, Drayson, Byron, Davon, Davian, Lucy, and Damian; and great-grandsons Tyron and Inyan Luta.
David was preceded in death by paternal grandparents David and Ellen Garnier; maternal grandparents David Long and Tina Bad Heart Bull; brother Ernie Garnier; son Byron J. Garnier; and grandsons Bryant J. Garnier and Drayson Garnier.
