12/24/2016 - Lisa (Standing Elk) Mesteth
Funeral services for Lisa Kaye (Standing Elk) Mesteth “Omani Waste Win,” age 53, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the WolfCreekSchool in Pine Ridge, SD. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Michael Carlow Jr. and Richard Moves Camp.
Burial will be at the Mesteth Family Cemetery in Cheyenne Creek, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Wolf Creek School Gymnasium in Pine Ridge, SD.
Lisa was born on February 21, 1963 in San Jose, CA to Darrel Standing Elk and Beverly Quetone. She made her journey to the Spirit World on December 20, 2016 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Lisa is survived by children Juan Mesteth of Pine Ridge, SD, Hoksila (Misty) Mesteth of Lame Deer, MT, and Rachel (Bennett) Mesteth and Dakota (Sadie) Mesteth of Pine Ridge, SD; brother Sean (Muriel Lakota) Weller of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Kym Mathias, Kelli Many Lightenings, Kris Limon, Sula Eastman, and Kamook Ecoffey; and grandchildren Wyatt, Triston, Wanapeya, Wamblikuza, Alejandro, Sloan, Ladanian, Kennedy, Dani, Sahiyela, Anpo, Bonnie, Wakpa Waste Win, Cetan Zi Hoksila, Kilowanpi Catkuta, and Ronnie Jr.
Lisa was preceded in death by husband Wilmer Mesteth “Wanapeya Najica” and parents Darrel (Carol) Standing Elk and Beverly Quetone.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Lisa Kaye (Standing Elk) Mesteth “Omani Waste Win.”
