Funeral services for Carl Stephen Rowland, age 68, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb and Father Joe Daoust, S.J., officiating.
Burial will be at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will start at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
He was veteran in the U.S. Army.
Carl Stephen Rowland was born on October 8, 1948 in Pine Ridge, SD and passed away on January 19, 2017 at the Minneapolis VA Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
Carl is survived by spouse Patricia White Bear Claws of Pine Ridge, SD; daughters Sharon Rowland of Oglala, SD and Carrie Rowland and Phoebe Rowland of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Terry Mills, Marvin Mills, and Dewey Mills of Pine Ridge, SD and Lincoln Mills of Minneapolis, MN; sisters Elizabeth Rowland of Pine Ridge, SD and Bonita Mills of Scottsbluff, NE; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Carl was preceded in death by mother Rose Mae (Rowland) Mills; daughter Kimberly Rowland; brothers Eugene Rowland, Anthony Rowland, and Perry Mills; and sister Bernadette Rowland.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Carl Stephen Rowland.
