Funeral services for Antoinette Jennie Brave Heart, age 29, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with Father Rick Abert, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Darla Black.
Burial will be at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD.
Antoinette was born on February 19, 1987 in Pine Ridge, SD to Anthony Brave Heart and Molina Faye Bull Bear. She made her journey to the Spirit World on January 20, 2017 at the University of Denver Hospital in Denver, CO.
Antoinette is survived by parents Anthony Brave Heart and Molina Bull Bear of Potato Creek, SD; spouse Leo Janis of Kyle, SD; daughters Talanna Janis and Tiara Janis of Kyle, SD; brothers Anthony Brave Heart Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, Daniel Brave Heart of Rapid City, SD, and Derek Brave Heart and Jeremiah Brave Heart of Kyle, SD; sisters Diandra Brave Heart and Kailynn Brave Heart of Kyle, SD; aunts Marlene Brave Heart, Anita Brave Heart, and Mona Bull Bear of Kyle, SD.
Antoinette was preceded in death by brother Dreyton Brave Heart; grandmothers Jennie Brave Heart and Anetha Elk Boy; and grandfathers Alphonso Brave Heart and Timothy Bull Bear Sr.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Antoinette Jennie Brave Heart.
