Funeral services for Flora Cross Dog, age 47, will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Re-Creation Center in Oglala, SD with Reverend Rhoda Mesteth and Reverend Harold Eagle Bull officiating.
Burial will be at the Advent Cemetery in Calico, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Re-Creation Center in Oglala, SD.
Flora was born on May 16, 1969 in Pine Ridge, SD to Lincoln Sr. and Florence (Walks Out) Cross Dog. She made her journey to the Spirit World on January 21, 2017 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Flora is survived by sons Tyger Cortier and Carl Cortier Jr. of Pine Ridge, SD; daughters Catherine White Eyes of Boulder City, NV, Oleta White Eyes of Bismarck, ND, and Raedawn Cross Dog and Michelle Cortier of Oglala, SD; brothers Linn Cross Dog of Calico, SD, Chet Cross Dog Sr. and William Cross Dog of Rapid City, SD, and Ronald Cross Dog and Rex Crow of Oglala, SD; sisters Marilyn Deer of Wisconsin and Wanda Cross Dog of Calico, SD; aunts Aurelia Two Crow, Norma Blacksmith, and Minerva Blacksmith of Oglala, SD; and 7 grandchildren.
Flora was preceded in death by parents Lincoln Sr. and Florence Cross Dog; brothers Milton Cross Dog, Caesar Cross Dog, John Cross Dog Sr., Bradley Cross Dog, and Lincoln Cross Dog Jr.; sister Oleta Crow; and grandparents John and Suzie Cross Dog and Asa and Elizabeth Walks Out.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Flora Cross Dog.
