A Mass of Christian Burial for Dale Douglas Pourier Sr., age 61, will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Christopher Johnson S.J. and Charles McGaa officiating.
Burial will be at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Rosary Services starting at 7:00 PM.
Dale was born on May 30, 1955 in Igloo, SD to Lester and Caroline Rose (Jacobs) Pourier. He passed away on January 28, 2017 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Dale spent his younger years in Igloo, SD and also attended grade school in Igloo. Later on, Dale moved with his grandparents, Bill and Eva Jacobs, to Pine Ridge, SD, where Dale attended OglalaCommunitySchool and graduated from there. After high school, Dale enlisted in the United States Navy, served his country and was honorably discharged. Upon his return from the service, Dale met and later married Kathy Richards, and they had three sons, Douglas, Philip, and Dale Jr. Dale, Kathy, and family spent many years together in Pine Ridge until Kathy passed away on February 24, 1994. Dale continued to stay in Pine Ridge and later married Yvette JoAnn Little, who passed away on October 14, 2013.
Dale is survived by father Lester Pourier of Pine Ridge, SD; sons Douglas (Tanya) Pourier of Kyle, SD and Dale Jr. (Mary) Pourier of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Debbie (Willie) Bettelyoun of Pine Ridge, SD and Betty Ann Hunter and Arlene (John Haas) Pourier of Kyle, SD; and grandchildren Lucas Pourier, Dale Pourier, Isaiah Pourier, Dante Apple, and Matthias Sierra.
Dale was preceded in death by mother Caroline Rose (Jacobs) Pourier; maternal grandparents Bill and Eva Jacobs; spouses Kathy Richards and Yvette JoAnn Little; son Philip Pierre Pourier; and brother Darrell Pourier.
