Funeral services for Shaun “Fonz” Jason Long Soldier, age 44, will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with Father Rick Abert, S.J., and Pastor Elton Yellow Boy officiating.
Burial will be at St. Stephan’s Catholic Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD.
Shaun was born on January 1, 1973 in Pine Ridge, SD to Alvin Long Solider Sr. and Ethel (Comes) Long Soldier. He made his journey to the Spirit World on March 20, 2017 in Kyle, SD.
Shaun is survived by sons Tayshaun Long Soldier and Taten Long Soldier of Kyle, SD; father Alvin Long Soldier Sr. of Colorado, brothers Alvin “Chipper” Long Soldier Jr. of Mitchell, SD, Gerald “Jerry” Long Soldier Sr. of Kyle, SD, Marlin “Moons” Long Soldier of Chicago, IL, and Craig Long Soldier and Hakala Long Soldier of Kyle, SD; sisters Claudette Long Soldier of Sturgis, SD, Evie Long Soldier of Pine Top, AZ, and Elizabeth Long Soldier and Rhonda Long Soldier of Kyle, SD; and special nieces and nephews Jerelle, Ebert, Nichelle, and Jhacie Long Soldier.
Shaun was preceded in death by mother Ethel Long Soldier; son Afernee Long Soldier; daughter Tashauni Long Soldier; and spouse Crystal Red Owl.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Shaun “Fonz” Jason Long Soldier.
