Memorial services for Matthew Allen Morgan, age 56, of Custer, SD, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD with Pastor Dustin Bartlett officiating.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established, and donations may be sent to Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home, 234 N. 6th St., Custer, SD 57730.
Matt peacefully passed away on March 22, 2017 at Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO as the result of a car accident. His wife, mother and sisters were by his side.
Matt was born on July 6, 1960 in Seattle, WA to (the late) Harold Morgan and Lorraine (Ousley) Morgan. He spent his early years in New Orleans, LA, Houston, TX, and Cocoa, FL, before moving to Custer in 1998. He married Sheila Johnson in 2008. Matt enjoyed four wheeling, camping and fishing with his family. He loved music, the New Orleans Saints, Michael Savage Radio, and as everyone knew, he was an avid animal lover.
Matt was employed by the Rapid City Journal.
He is survived by wife of eight years Sheila Morgan of Custer, SD; stepdaughter Courtney Johnson of Custer, SD; mother Lorraine Morgan of Custer, SD; sisters Cindy Woods of Kennesaw, GA and Laura Dahl of Meridian, ID; aunts Agnes Kline, Ferol McClaren, and Dar Stoltz; two nephews; three nieces; and various great-nieces and great-nephews.
Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home of Custer, SD is in charge of arrangements for Matthew Allen Morgan.
