Funeral services for Katherine “Katie” Dyan Jumping Eagle-Shakespeare, age 41, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Little Wound School Gym in Kyle, SD. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Rick and Ethleen Two Dogs, Hoksila Mesteth, and Darla Black officiating.
Burial will be at the St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Manderson, SD.
A two-night wake service will be at 4:30 PM on Thursday and Friday, April 13 and 14, 2017 at the Little Wound School Gym in Kyle, SD.
Katie was born on September 11, 1975 in Tucson, AZ to Linda Blue. She made her journey to the Spirit World on April 8, 2017 in Red Shirt Table, SD.
Katie is survived by significant other Corey Zephier of Red Shirt Table, SD; daughters Kayja Shakespeare and Katelyn Shakespeare of Red Shirt Table, SD; son Wakiyan Shakespeare of Red Shirt Table, SD; brother Irving Duane Jumping Eagle of Sioux Falls, SD; sister Dr. Sara Jumping Eagle of Fort Yates, ND; aunts Jina Red Nest of Scottsbluff, NE, Cheryl Fury of Morton, MN, Robin Blue of Hot Springs, SD, Tiny Pourier of Thunder Valley, SD, and Mamie Looks Twice and Roberta Spencer of Manderson, SD; and uncles John White Eyes of Allen, SD and Dave Pourier of Thunder Valley, SD.
Katie was preceded in death by mother Linda Blue; maternal grandmother Juanita White Eyes; and aunts Terryl Blue-White Eyes and Sandra Brown.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Katherine “Katie” Dyan Jumping Eagle-Shakespeare.
