Funeral services for Delores Mary Sierra, age 71, will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD with Ernest White Eagle officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by David Swallow Sr.
Burial will be at the SwallowFamilyCemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will start at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD.
Delores was born on October 3, 1945 in Pine Ridge, SD to Harold and Cora (Spider) Sierra. She made her journey to the Spirit World on April 12, 2017 at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City, SD.
Delores is survived by daughter Bernice (Dennis Lone Elk) of Porcupine, SD; sister Florence Sierra of Batesland, SD; brothers Archie Sierra of Batesland, SD and Leo Swallow Sr. of Colorado; grandchildren Tristen Tail, Anthony Tail, Hailey Tail, and Braxton Spotted Bear; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by spouse Donald Tail; mother Cora Spider-Sierra; father Harold Sierra; sisters Ruby Sierra, Lois Sierra, and Cleo Sierra; and grandparents Bennet Sierra and Mary Sierra-Yellow Boy.
Pallbearers will be Ranzle Lays Bad, Tristen Tail, Robert Sierra, Leo Swallow Sr., Archie Sierra Sr., Elton Tail, Brandon Sierra, and Robert “RJ” Williams.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Delores Mary Sierra.
