Funeral services for Zane Thomas Lipps, age 24, of Axtell, NE, formerly of Hay Springs, NE, will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs, NE with Pastor Paul Smith officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Hay Springs, NE.

A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Chamberlain-Drabbels Mortuary in Hay Springs, NE.

A memorial has been established Mosaic in Axtell, NE. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary, PO Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.

Zane passed away on August 8, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. He was born on January 2, 1993 in Chadron, NE to Walter and Jolene (Peters) Lipps. Zane was the New Year’s Baby that year. He was the youngest of five children.

Zane attended Mirage Flats District 30 until the fifth grade when they transferred to Hay Springs until the end of his eighth grade year when he became very sick. He left Hay Springs his junior year and moved to Mosaic in Axtell, NE, where he received great care from the staff that enhanced the quality of his life.

Zane was always very active, loved sports and was a huge Huskers fan. One of the greatest things he did while at Mosaic was attend a Husker game.

He was preceded in death by mother Jolene Lipps, grandparents Paul and Ida Lipps and Donna Peters, and uncle Steve Peters.

He is survived by father Walter, brothers Chris Speirs and Brad Lipps of Hay Springs, NE, sisters Mandy McNamer (Daron) of Rockford, Ill and Brianna Lipps of Dallas, TX, grandpa Don Peters of Hay Springs, NE, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
