Funeral services for Evelyn Melissa Sits Poor, age 61, will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with prayer services starting at 7:00 PM at the hall.
Evelyn was born on April 13, 1956 in Pine Ridge, SD to Franklin Sits Poor Jr. and Phyllis (White Dress) Sits Poor. Shemade her journey to the Spirit World on March 21, 2018 at the BennettCountyHospital in Martin, SD.
Evelyn is survived by her siblings, Rose Thunder Club, Marilyn Sits Poor, Franklin Sits Poor III, Milo Sits Poor, Kevin Sits Poor, and Forrest Sits Poor; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Franklin Sits Poor, Sr. and Sarah Drops Two-Sits Poor; maternal grandparents, Silas White Dress and Marie Bad Yellow Hair-Sits Poor; father, Franklin Sits Poor, Jr.; mother, Phyllis White Dress-Sits Poor; uncle, Neville Sits Poor; aunt, Henrietta (Bernice) Sits Poor-Chase in Sit; brother, Melvin Sits Poor; and sister, Delema Sits Poor.
