Funeral services for Marlene Mae Locke, age 62, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Porcupine Elderly Meals Building in Porcupine, SD with Father Ed Hunt, Pastor Matt Hadden, Pastor Albert Sutton and Senior Catechist Ben Conquering Bear officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Sidney Has No Horse.
Burial will be at St. Julia’s Episcopal Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Elderly Meals Building in Porcupine, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM each night of the wake.
Marlene was born on November 20, 1955 in Rapid City, SD to Wilbur Locke and Frances (Short Horn) Locke. She made her journey to the Spirit World on March 30, 2018 at the SanfordUSDMedicalCenter in Sioux Falls, SD.
Marlene is survived by daughter Tonia Renite Locke of Porcupine, SD; grandchildren Adan Estrada of Oregon, Waniyetu Locke of Canada and Teresa and Wyatt Graham of Kyle, SD; and siblings Norma Moose, Cecelia Locke, William Locke, Carol Peneaux and Sandra Locke, all of Porcupine, SD, and Geraldine Locke, Winifred Locke and Olivia Locke, all of Sisseton, SD.
Marlene was preceded in death by parents Wilbur and Frances Locke; brother Thomas Locke Sr.; and grandparents Frank and Sadie (Janis) Short Horn, James Locke and Hail Good Pipe.
