Funeral services for Erlette Norene LaMont, age 59, will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., officiating.
Cremation will follow services. Burial will be held at a later date.
A one-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with rosary services starting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening.
Erlette was born on October 20, 1958 in Wanblee to Richard “Dickie” LaMont and Lucille Standing Soldier (Luke & Rose Weasel Bear). She made her journey to the Spirit World on April 9, 2018 in York, PA.
Erlette is survived by spouse Josiah Hill of York, PA; children Kara Wright of Grayton, MA and Allen LaMont, Justine LaMont and Josh Hill, all of York, PA; siblings Gina Weasel Bear-Elliot of Colorado, Alan and Alvin Garnier of Loveland, CO, Daryl and Rose Weasel Bear of Oglala, SD, Cecelia Blue Legs of Pine Ridge, SD, Melvin Young Bear and Severt Young Bear Jr. of Porcupine, SD, William “Bill” LaMont and Linda LaMont of Wanblee, SD, and Phyllis LaMont of Allen, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren.
Erlette was preceded in death by parents Richard “Dickie” LaMont and Lucille Standing Soldier; adopted parents Luke and Rose Weasel Bear; brother Joseph P. Bald Eagle Jr.; sister Valerie LaMont; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Erlette Norene LaMont.
