A Mass of Christian Burial for Duane “Red” Woodrow Goings “Anpo Wicahpi,” age 72, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mike Sna Mani Jr.
Burial will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Vigil Services starting at 7:00 PM.
Duane was born on August 26, 1945 in Pine Ridge, SD to Roland and Rebecca (Cuny) Goings. He made his journey to the Spirit World on April 12, 2018 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Duane is survived by wife Angie American Horse-Goings; daughters Crystal Gayle Goings-Davis and Theresa Rebecca Ann Goings; son Daryl Goings Sr.; sisters Fern Goings, Joyce Goings, and Melody Talbot; brothers Marty Goings Sr. and Victor Goings; grandchildren Katana Davis, Duane Davis, Angela Davis, Arianna Davis, Gerald Cottier, Titan Goings, Daryl Goings Jr., and Kelsey Goings; great-grandchildren Mary Cottier, Lalona Goings, and Uriah Lafferty Jr.
Duane was preceded in death by mother Rebecca Ann Cuny-Goings; father Roland Scope Goings; brothers Mike Goings, Richard Goings, and Sylvester Goings; and sister Bernadette Bordeaux.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Davis, Philip Davis, Ramon Garnette, Bob Hernandez Jr., Scott Thompson, Walker Thompson, Manuel Lewis Sr., Orson Cuny and Stanley Flying Hawk.
